Rhineback - Bard - Red Hook Trip Reports

 Ron, June 2007:

I rode the Rhinebeck-Bard-Redhook route twice this week since I enjoyed it so much the first time. A wonderful ride with little traffic and wonderful views. Nice easy ride that you can enjoy at a slow or fast pace.

May 2003, Ken

As part of a Mid-Hudson Bicycle Club ride led by Joe and Leigh Toth, Sharon and I rode all of the route except Whaleback Rd, Philips St, and section of Rt 9 coming into Rhinebeck.  The roads were in good condition, and as pretty as we remembered from previous rides.

We tried your route for the Rhinebeck area.  Started in Rhinebeck up to Bard College and then on the way back stopped to watch the show at the Aerodrome.  What a fantastic ride we had.  It was a great route...not too hilly...scenery was fantastic...weather was great...and we met some very nice people along the way.  We ended the perfect day by having dinner at the historic inn in Rhinebeck.  The people there were very gracious... I was concerned they wouldn't want us to come in since I was covered in dust and dirt and we did look a little scraggly.  They couldn't have been nicer to us and, in addition to that, the food was great.  We are looking forward to trying more of your rides in Dutchess.

July 2001, Ken Roberts:  See report for Rhinebeck to Tivoli, which covers all the road segments for this route except Whaleback Rd.
