Protect, Conserve, Safety

The Hudson Valley and outdoors has so much to offer, however, it cannot be sustained unless we protect the trails, wildlife, and most importantly ourselves. Before going on your outdoor adventure be prepared for different circumstances and take precautions.

Before going on your outdoor adventure…

  • Check the weather and trail conditions

  • Go with someone who is experienced or have a plan

  • Wear a good pair of shoes, or proper equipment

  • Wear Protective clothing

On the trails…

  • Always carry a map and compass and know how to use both

  • Carry a portable first aid kit, whistle, and headlight for emergencies

  • Bring extra food, water, and clothes to prepare for unpredicted weather

  • If you are bringing a dog, obey the park rules and clean up after them

Leave No Trace…

  • Take your trash and belongings off the trails

  • Do not go near wildlife/animals or feed them

  • Leave the trails the way you found them

  • Stay on the designated trail

  • If you see a piece of trash take it out with you, we can all do our part to preserve the Hudson Valley
