46 miles, moderate hilliness (2500 vertical feet) -- gentler variations of 25, 31, 43 miles. Immersion in beautiful farm country of Columbia and Dutchess counties on quiet roads with good pavement. Food stops in two interesting hamlets -- Ancramdale and Millerton. Option to sample the prettiest paved "rail trail" around.
Directions
By train: Take Metro North (Harlem Valley line) to Wassaic.
By car: The Wassaic train station is right next to the east side of Route 22 in western Dutchess county. The station is about 3 miles South from the intersection of Routes 44 and 22 in Amenia NY. Wassaic station is about 19.5 miles North from the intersection of Routes 55 and 22 in Pawling NY. As of July 2001, parking is free on weekends.

I skated this route with Jared and Mark -- it was great overall.
Ran into some fresh gravel on the northwest section of Boston Corners Rd, and on Barton St going thru Millerton -- otherwise good pavement.
